> Safety > Child Safety
Plastic and flexible manufacturers comply with European and national regulations, which include obligations in term of child-proof closures.
In France, the ruling of November 9, 2004 (defining the classification criteria and labelling conditions for hazardous product packaging) sets down this obligation in article 22, appendix 4.
This ruling transposes European Parliament and Council directive EC/1999/45 of May 31st, 1999.
On the technical side, the subject is also addressed in several standards:
- ISO 8317 (for resealable child safety closures)
- EN 862 (for non-resealable child safety closures)
- EN 14 375 (for child safety closures in pharmaceuticals).
